Enzumo Newsletter - August 2025
Welcome to the Enzumo August newsletter, we hope your end of financial year craziness has settled down and you are all back to your normal routines.
Seems every time I start to put together the Enzumo newsletters I can include a new article about yet another data breach.
This time it is Qantas and the brand damage that has ensued is significant.
Think for a minute how you would feel if you had to contact your clients and tell them that the sensitive information you have on their file has been compromised.
It is not only the reputational damage that needs to be considered, there is also the potential financial loss, not just downtime and loss of revenue, and those are serious enough, but also the expensive recovery process.
Implementing cyber security frameworks into your business doesn’t have to be hard, but will be impactful!
Ensure your team is up to date on cyber security practices, run regular training sessions on cyber safety, recognising phishing emails, and following safe online behaviours.
Keep all software up to date with the latest security patches, this can help protect against unknown vulnerabilities and reduce the risk of cyber-attacks.
Implement strong password and multi factor authentication policies, adding an extra layer of security, making it harder for unauthorized users to gain access.
Cyber Wardens is free and simple small business online cyber security training, funded by the Australian Government.
The Cyber Wardens training is
designed for small business
Self-paced learning
Free online training and resources
Simple and practical wins
Anyone can become a Cyber Warden - you don't have to be an IT whiz or even tech-savvy. You can learn simple and effective steps you can take to make your business safer in this scary new online world.
There are several short courses currently available through Cyber Wardens, and on completion of each one you will receive a certificate.
The team at Enzumo have all completed the Cyber Wardens Foundation level course.
With the type, and amount, of data you collect on your clients, making every effort to keep that data safe can only be a good thing.
Just think of the sense of trust displaying a certificate saying you have completed Cyber Warden training.
Some additional changes have been made to the rollout where IressID is now being rolled out as a Hybrid approach. This version of the rollout means the changes will happen on the site gradually, giving users time to get set up with their ID before it becomes mandatory on your site.
Enzumo can still help with the set up, if required.
